Member of the House of Representatives Bhim Prasad Acharya has said that the government should increase initiatives for the regular operation of the Bhairahawa International Airport.
Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives held on Thursday, he drew the attention of the government to make the airport operate regularly. He emphasized that the government should pay special attention to the fact that the businessmen are protesting for the operation of the airport.
He said that essential government agencies such as manpower company, health examination office, visa facilitation office should be established. The businessmen have drawn the attention of the government saying that the airport is not operating and they are demanding compensation.
He has said, 'businessmen are protesting there now for the operation of Bhairawa airport. Government initiatives should be increased. The demand of businessmen should be addressed by manpower company to provide services from there, health check office should be arranged, government concession should be provided for specific time at the airport, visa facilitation office should be opened and operated.'
He said that as Tilaurakot of Kapilvastu is awaiting excavation, reconstruction and conservation, there is a need to acquire more land for that. He complained that the system is poor in Tilaurakot, which receives one and a half million tourists annually.
