Nepali Congress MP Sita Mizar has demanded that the government should make policies and programs for that, saying that the society will not be free from untouchability while writing in the constitution.

Commenting on the annual policy and program presented by the government for the next financial year in the House of Representatives, she said that even though the constitution declared the country untouchable a decade ago, such bad practice still persists in the society.

'Constitution has declared our country as a nation free from caste discrimination and untouchability. But more than 4 million people of Dalit community are forced to suffer discrimination even today,' she said. Laws should be made and implemented effectively. For how long, how many generations will the Dalit community have to wait for?'

She demanded that laws related to Article-24 and Article 40, which are provided as fundamental rights by the constitution, should be made and implemented.

Member of Parliament Mizar drew the government's attention to the fact that the Dalit community is not able to get justice even from the courts against such injustices, saying that incidents such as murder, violence, gang rape, sexual abuse, untouchability, confiscation of personal property are still happening against Dalit people and women.

She said that employment has not been prioritized in the policies and programs brought by the government. There does not seem to be any clear program on the current urgent sector of employment among the necessary subjects to be included in the policy. Declaring employment only. But if there is no return, the policies and programs will not be meaningful. "Employment is the main problem now, the frustration seen in the youth should be addressed by the government at the same time," she said.
