Content creator Ishtu Karki has been a victim of trolls on social media for some time now. The main reason for trolling is the dress worn by Elam in Maipokhari. According to her, the tendency to look for negative aspects of people has increased recently.
Speaking at the program 'Swatanrata Mero Khusi' organized by Nari Masik, a co-publisher of Kantipur Publications, she said, "My good content was never talked about, the clothes I wore in Maipokhari were trolled, this shows that the society has grown negative". She said she didn't think there would be so many negative comments on the
content creator's journey. She also said that although the negative comments caused pressure and stress, she stopped caring about them recently. She said, "Negative comments cause stress, but you should not prepare for memes and trolls, but you need the courage to face the challenge and move forward. Experience will teach you that."
Commenting on freedom in the clothes worn by women, she sees the patriarchal thinking in the society and behavior in the name of religion as the main reason. According to him, religion also binds women's freedom. She told the of the of women being bound by culture. She said, "In the name of religion, women are discriminated against in terms of freedom and ownership of property. Women have not been able to rise above the patriarchal thinking and are ridiculed for wearing them openly."
