When there was a heated debate about 'people's multi-party democracy' (jabaj) within the party, at that time leader Nepal printed a booklet with some words about 'jabaj' of Madan Bhandari and started a campaign to teach UML workers.
UML Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Gyawali says that leader Pradeep Nepal is one of the initiators of UML creation. Gyawali says that he has made a significant contribution to the development of contemporary ideas by breaking the communist inertia.
'Pradeep Nepal was a source of inspiration for leaders and activists, I myself am inspired by him,' he says, 'His contribution to the construction of contemporary communist ideas is important, he is the person who closely helped the then General Secretary Madan Bhandari to implement the multi-party democracy of the people.' In 2056 he was at the forefront of the leaders who used mobile phones and worked on computers. Gyawali says, "He was the leader who introduced technology to the party, used computers first, and used mobile phones."

He was a strong critic of Maoist violence. He wrote the novel 'Akash Gangako Tiraitir' after Maoist killed UML leader Yadu Gautam in 2056 elections in Rukum. He said, "If Yadu Gautama's bloodied body had not been seen, Akash Ganga's Tiraitir (novel) would not have been born.
