Education, Science and Technology Minister Raghuji Pant has informed that the ministry is working to find out the truth about the death of two Nepali students studying at Kaling Institute of Industrial Technology (KIT) University in Odisha, India.

In Monday's meeting of the Education, Health and Information Technology Committee under the House of Representatives, Minister Pant said that even though students going to study outside Nepal take NOC, they do not take NOC due to the open border with India. He also said that the ministry does not have the exact statistics of how many students are studying in Kit University of Odisha.

Minister Pant said that the data provided by the educational institutions where the students are studying should be considered official. "As soon as this incident happened, I have asked the relevant officials in the ministry to immediately coordinate with the Foreign Affairs and understand the details of what happened." Our ministry has also done the necessary coordination regarding that . Devendra Poudel has collected data on how many have gone, we do not have that data for sure. Some have gone with NOC but not all of them have gone with NOC,' Pant said, 'so we have the data of those who have gone with NOC but the border is open to go to India . Many students are going to study in India without taking NOC. Therefore, since there is no certain data, the data of the relevant educational institution should be considered official.'

Minister Pant also informed that he has instructed to find out which agencies in Nepal send students to the said university or other educational institutions.
