The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Devraj Ghimire, has instructed to find out the truth about the death of Nepali student Prasa Shah at KIIT College in Odisha, India and to help the family for justice.

During the emergency session of the House of Representatives on Monday, after the parliamentarians raised questions saying that the government was not interested in the matter, Speaker Ghimire instructed to take serious interest in the matter and find out the truth.

Preesa Shah, a student studying at Kaling Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), was found dead in the college hostel on Friday morning. Prakriti Lamsal of Ruppandehi was also found dead in the same dormitory of KIIT on February 4. 

The parliamentarians called the death of Nepali schoolgirls one after the other in the same place sad and demanded that the government take diplomatic initiatives to find out the truth and make it public. After that, Speaker Ghimire ruled and directed the government to take deep interest in the incident and find out the truth.

The matter raised by the Honorable Members regarding the death of Nepali student Prisa Shah in the hostel of KIIT College in Orissa has been drawn to the attention of the House, Speaker Ghimir said, "The death of students who have gone abroad to study with the dream of a bright future is a serious matter connected with the sensitivity and responsibility of the nation. I direct the government to take a deep interest in this incident to find out the truth, initiate dialogue with the relevant parties and provide legal assistance to the family.'

Speaker Ghimire has also instructed the government to make necessary arrangements to ensure the safety of students studying abroad.

While speaking during the emergency, MPs drew the attention of the government about Preisa Sah's death case through Parliament. MPs Devendra Paudel, Dr. Amresh Kumar Singh, Ramkrishna Yadav, Nirmala Koirale and others drew the attention of Preisa Sah's death case through Parliament.
