After the rain since 2 o'clock last night, the traffic flow has been disrupted on the road of the southern section under Mahendra Rajmarg.
According to the area police office, Dumkibas, the highway was blocked due to slippery roads near Daunne Bazar, Vishwakarma Temple.
Police have stopped vehicles going east-west through Mahendra Highway at Dumkibas, Arukhola, Chormara and Bardghat markets. Hundreds of vehicles left for East-West via Mahendra Rajmarg are stuck in that market. In Daunne, the police have stopped vehicles in that market so that there is not too much traffic in one place. The police has requested that the vehicles that are left for east-west via Mahendra Rajmarg should use the Kaligandaki corridor.
It is raining around Downne since 2 am on Sunday morning.
Dumkibas on the Mahendra Highway is located on the hills below the 14 km road between Bardghat. There, the road that was destroyed 6 years ago to build a highway is dusty due to non-repair. The highway has been blocked due to the vehicle being unable to move due to the condition of the vehicle being slippery and muddy after the rain.
East Nawalparasi has been continuously raining since Sunday morning.
