The vehicle that was lost due to landslides in Hetounda on Friday has not been found yet. The driver and co-driver of the Bolero van got out and managed to save their lives when the road was washed away.
On Sunday, a meeting of the disaster management committee was held in Hetounda sub-metropolitan city regarding the incident. The committee meeting was held with the participation of Chief District Officer Skim Shrestha. The meeting will bring in a geologist and search for the vehicle only after studying Meenakumari Lama, mayor of Hetounda sub-metropolitan city, said that the decision was made. The disaster committee has also decided to close the area now.
Makwanpur Police Spokesperson DSP Shyamu Aryal informed that a van numbered No. 4 Ch 4833 disappeared under the ground when the road was washed away in Hetaunda sub-metropolitan city-17 Garigaon. According to him, the van disappeared when the road suddenly flooded. Spokesman Aryal said that after the vehicle drifted, there was a puddle of water on the road. The driver and co-driver of the vehicle got out before the vehicle was overturned. Eyewitnesses have said that the vehicle disappeared within 5 seconds.
There is also a fish farming pond and boring near the place where the car was washed away. It is estimated that the ground has become submerged due to boring. On Saturday, the vehicle was not seen floating in the water and the search for the vehicle was carried out by draining the water. But the vehicle could not be found, spokesperson Aryal said.
