Journalist Matrika Dahal of Kantipur Dainik has received a good governance award worth one lakh rupees. The 'Tank Prasad-Ramadevi Pathak Journalism Award' established by Hem-Sarita Pathak Foundation, which has an office in Texas, USA, was awarded to Kantipur journalist Dahal at a program held in Kathmandu on Saturday.
Journalist Deepa Dahal of Ukalo Online has also been honored with a good governance award worth one lakh in cash.
The foundation informed that the journalists of Kantipur and Ukalo were awarded for their contribution to corruption control and promotion of good governance through investigative journalism. The Chief Guest, Independent Member of the House of Representatives, Amresh Kumar Singh, Chief Patron of the Foundation, Hem Pathak, and President of the Foundation, Jenny Pathak, awarded journalist Dahal with cash and certificates. Pathak, the chief patron of
foundation, established the International Journalism Award in the name of his late parents, Tank Prasad Pathak and Ramadevi Pathak, to honor journalists who use their pen for the benefit of the country and people through journalism. The same award has been given to journalist Dahaldhay from Kantipur and Ukalo for this year .

As a contribution to corruption control and promotion of good governance through investigative journalism, journalist Dahal from Kantipur has received the Barbara Foundation Investigative Journalism Award (2081) including the 'Anti-Corruption Champion Award-2024' established by the American government, the Good Governance Award from the Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission-2079 and 2080, the Sejan Award established by the Nepal Economic Journalist Society-2076 and 2080, the Inja Investigative Journalism Award-2079, Reliance College Governance Award 2081, and has received various awards/prizes and honours .
Deepa Dahal of Ukalok has brought out various cases of irregularity including bamboosbari land scam, land irregularity of Juddodaya Vidyalaya.
