The police jailed Civil Liberation Party leader Resham Chaudhary for about five hours without even basic examination of the letter written by the Supreme Court officer on Wednesday, claiming that the verdict of the case pending in the Supreme Court is 'like this'. kept

Chaudhary has been released after all-round protests, but questions have been raised about the state machinery in Hachuwa. Choudhary, who reached Pragya Pratishthan in Kamaladi on Wednesday afternoon, was taken to Dillibazar Jail by court officials and police to participate in the unification program of the Janmat Party led by CK Raut and the Civil Liberation Party chaired by Ranjita Shrestha.

Different people have their own assessment of this event. Kantipur worker Vivek Pokhrel has seen the incident directly and tried to show the incident from a different point of view by talking to the leaders/activists and security personnel who participated.

Morning: 7 o'clock

Ranjita Shrestha, President, Civil Immunity : After a long preparation, grand preparations were being made for the integration of the Civil Immunity Party and Janmat Party. There was an announcement meeting at Pragya Foundation in the afternoon but I was at Grandi Hospital since morning because of my 'follow-up'.  

Morning: 9 o'clock

Abdul Khan, MP, Janmat Party : At 9 o'clock in the morning I reached Pragya Pratishthan, the venue of party integration, and got information about the preparations being made there. Leaders/workers from the district were gathering. Banners and chairs were being arranged. Although many issues were agreed upon for integration, some issues of disagreement remained. Therefore, the agenda was to hold a meeting at 11 o'clock to finalize the remaining issues and announce the party unification at 1 o'clock. So I sat there for about half an hour and went out to eat. 

Morning: 10 o'clock

Arun Kumar Choudhary (Minister of State) : Before the announcement of unification, at 10 o'clock at Everest Hotel in Baneshwar, some leaders along with Resham Choudhary met for discussion.  

Morning: 11:30 am

Abdul : I reached the venue again at 11:30 am. Preparations were complete. The leaders were gathering.

Arun Kumar : After 11:30 we left Everest Hotel and went to Pragya Bhawan. Resham Dai was in a separate car. I was in a separate vehicle. 

Noon : 12 o'clock

Arun Kumar : I reached Pragya Bhawan at 12 o'clock. The presence of leaders and workers of both parties was encouraging. Resham Dai arrived at half past 12. Resham Dai was of the opinion that the responsibility of everyone including the officials should be announced only after finishing. Resham Dai was having an informal discussion with the second ranking leader of both the parties. 

Abdul : Reshamji went out to arrange the documents and print the statute. We were inside.

at 1 pm

Arun Kumar : Resham left to meet his friend and said he would come in 15 minutes. But then it was heard that Resham Dai was dramatically taken away by the police from near the gate. I could not see because I was inside the building. Before I knew it, Dillibazar was taken to Jail. Soon I reached there, saw the arrest warrant. Even though I was a minister of state in the government, I was confused about this matter. We didn't think about it. 

Ranjita : I was in the hospital when I got the information about Reshamji's arrest around 1 am. It was difficult to find out what happened. I went to jail soon after.

Tika Bahadur Kunwar, Resham's lawyer : The hearing of the writ in the Supreme Court against the President's decision to grant amnesty to Reshamji was only in the coming June. But suddenly I was shocked to hear the news that he was arrested from the party venue on the basis of Supreme Court's letter. It was 1 pm when I got to know from the news. Then the phone calls started coming.

immediately reached Dillibazar jail. CK Raut, Ranjita Shrestha and other leaders had arrived. Reshamji was taken to jail, it was not easy to meet him. It has been tightened. The reason for the arrest has not been disclosed. The letter was given only after reaching the prison. I also looked at the letter. But looking at the context, language, and style of the letter, I felt at first glance that something is wrong here. 

at 1:10 p.m.

Superintendent of Police Apilraj Bohra, Spokesperson, District Police Complex Kathmandu : After the letter from the court, the 'system' worked, I only got the official information about the arrest of Resham Chaudhary after I went to jail. 

1:30 pm

CK Raut, President, Janmat : Party unification announcement was being prepared. After the arrest of Reshamji, we came to the decision of not announcing the program around 1:30.

Achyut Kuinkel, Additional Registrar and Spokesperson,  Supreme Court : I got information about this after receiving a call from journalists around 1:30. After that, the work of looking at the missile was done. Resham Chaudhary's case was under consideration and it was found that the payment had been fixed in Asar. But no official order or formal letter was sent from the court.

Baburam Aryal, prison administrator (jailer), Dillibazar prison : Resham Chaudhary was brought here by the police at 1:30. Then we took it to block number 'B'. It is our responsibility to give the location when the police bring it, we fulfilled that responsibility. 

Tika Bahadur Kunwar, Resham's lawyer : There was no doubt that arresting Reshamji was wrong, but then legal preparations had to be made. So I went back to the office around 2:30. 

at 2 pm 

DIG Dinesh Acharya, Spokesperson, Nepal Police : I was busy with other programs till 2 am. I came to know about this incident only at 2 am. 

2:15 pm

Arun Kumar : I left the jail at half past 2.

3 pm

Abdul : We were shocked when Reshamji was arrested to disrupt the declaration meeting of unification between the two parties. The top leaders of both the parties gathered at the office of the Janmat Party in Baneshwar to discuss the next strategy. We gathered at 3 o'clock and started the discussion, that's when the news started coming that the letter of his arrest was fake. After a while it was confirmed. Then we went back to the prison. 

Ranjita : Our party is in the government, there is one minister of state. But why was Reshamji arrested from the venue before the announcement of the two party merger? At first he was confused. I called the Inspector General of Police around 3 o'clock. He said, "Reshamji has been arrested by mistake, he should be released."

at 3:50 pm

DSP Bohra : The letter which the police received from the case and writ division of the Supreme Court was found to be fake. This was confirmed by the Supreme Court itself. Based on the Supreme Court's letter, the police team arrested Mahimansingh Bista from the Supreme Court at 3:50. 

at 4 pm

Tika Bahadur : I got information that the letter prepared for the arrest of Reshamji was discussed in the court as unauthorized. Then I peaked around 4pm. I came to know that they are going to prepare a letter to release Reshamji immediately and send it to Dillibazar jail. 

Arun Kumar : Why has Resham Dai been arrested? What is the conspiracy? I was inquiring with the stakeholders as to why the state did this, later it was confirmed that the letter itself was fake. I reached the prison again around 4 o'clock. Preparations were being made to release Resham Dai there. 

at 4:30 p.m.

Achyut : The police arrested the officer who prepared an unauthorized letter by misusing the letterhead and seal of the Supreme Court to arrest Resham Chaudhary at 4:30 p.m. Another letter was also prepared and a press release was also issued for Chaudhary's immediate release. 

5 pm

Baburam : At around 5 pm, a letter was received from the Supreme Court asking for the release of Resham Chaudhary. Chaudhary was left with his father and wife at Rohwar. 

5:30 p.m.

Ranjita : After he was released from prison at 5:30 p.m., he met with leaders and activists at Sunrise Cafe.

Abdul : After being released from Dillibazar Jail, we reached a cafe where the leaders/activists were gathered. Reshamji, Ranjitaji, Janmat Party spokesperson Sharad Yadav and I addressed there.

Resham : I started addressing the party leader/activist by singing the song 'Akashaima badlu chan pani paryo kareli jalaiima, samantko nike chan kalle paryo makuri jalaiima'. I also recited some hymns and parts of my own songs. On the issue of party unity, I played Deusi by myself.
