Death of Nepalese student in Odisha: Embassy request for fair investigation

According to the Nepali Embassy, ​​the representative of the university was informed about the death of a Nepali student at the Kaling Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Odisha, India.

The Embassy in New Delhi issued a press release today and mentioned that there is constant communication and coordination with the Central Government of India and the Office of the Chief Minister of Odisha and related Indian bodies, including the Nepali students in KIIT.  Regarding the

incident, Ambassador Dr. Shankar Sharma has contacted Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and the chief secretary of the state and requested a fair investigation, according to the statement. 

18-year-old Prisha Sah, a first-year undergraduate student at KIIT, was found hanging in her dormitory room, according to a statement received by the embassy on May 1, 2025 (Thursday) night.
