Foreign Department Chief of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Vijay Chathaiwale, who is visiting Nepal, met Maoist Deputy General Secretary Varshman Pun. Quoting the statement of Chathaiwale after the meeting on Friday, Pun said, "India is not in favor of monarchy and there is no cooperation, support, harmony in the movement for it."
Pun said that he was happy that the attack on Pahalgam in the Jammu and Kashmir region of India on 9th Baisakh was condemned by the government of Nepal, political parties and citizens of Nepal. 27 people including Nepali citizen Sudeep Neupane were killed in the attack. Pune informed that there was also a conversation with Chathaiwale about the relationship between the Maoist center and the BJP.
Chathaiwa, who visited Nepal on Wednesday, is busy with high-level political meetings. He has already met Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Congress Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba, Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deubalgat.
