An agreement has been reached between the protesting teachers and the government. It is said that after the agreement is approved by the Cabinet, it will be made public.
Education Minister Raghuji Pant, who is in talks with the Nepal Teachers Federation in the Ministry of Education, has left to participate in the Cabinet meeting. He said that negotiations are going on to reach an agreement. It is said that some of the demands of the teachers will be fulfilled by the Council of Ministers and then the negotiations will be continued and an agreement will be reached. Sources from the Ministry of Education said that there was an agreement on 7 points with the teachers and that the decision will be made by the Council of Ministers.
The teachers started a movement demanding the release of the School Education Act. Chairman Amber Bahadur Thapa said that the bill in the education and health committee was agreed to be submitted by the committee by June and passed by this session. Home Minister Ramesh Sukhari, Congress whip Shyam Kumar Ghimire and UML whip Mahesh Bertaula, President Thapa and the sub-committee coordinator Chabilal Vishwakarma also participated in the talks.
As the teachers are looking for a reliable basis for the release of the School Education Act, it is said that the leaders of Satarudh Party were present in the talks for commitment. Some demands will be fulfilled by the decision of the Council of Ministers, and the law will be ensured, the teachers said that the nature of the protest that has been going on for 29 days can be changed . Until the Act is promulgated, the Federation of Teachers said that they will participate in the class 12 examination and recitation by holding a symbolic movement.
