World peace will be maintained only by the spread of Buddhist philosophy: Prime Minister Oli

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the importance of Buddhist philosophy and education has increased even more when the unrest is increasing in the world. He said that only Buddhist philosophy can stop the conflict and violence that is increasing in the world now, not with weapons.

He said that dangerous weapons that can attack by water, land and air are being developed in the world and it will be possible to stop it only by preaching peace, compassion and humanity. Prime Minister Oli said this while addressing the 4th Asia Buddhist Cultural Festival organized by Lumbini Development Fund and Sariputra Foundation with the support of Chinese Cultural Promotion Society.

Buddha said that he left his private pleasures and left the palace for the welfare of mankind and said that the human race should learn a lot from the life of the Buddha. Recalling the history of a great struggle to keep Buddha's teachings and ideas, peace, compassion and friendship alive, he said that now world peace can be maintained according to Buddha's ideas.

He said that Lumbini is not only a holy land but also the birthplace of Buddhadarshan. The elders said that they fought hard to keep Buddha's peaceful thoughts, peaceful compassion and friendly thoughts alive.

festival is attended by monks, nuns, lamas, worshipers and pilgrims. On the occasion of the opening ceremony, various cultural programs including Syabru and Yolmo dances, famous in the Himalayan region, were also shown.
