As an initiative to bring the concerns of Nepal's Himalayan region to the world, preparations are being made to ensure the active participation of the UK in the upcoming Everest Dialogue, the British Ambassador to Nepal, Rob Fenn, has informed. According to him, efforts are being made to get the Minister of the Environment Ministry from the UK to participate.
Speaking at a gathering organized by the embassy on Friday evening to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Kanchanjunga Himal climb, Ambassador Fane expressed the view that the Everest dialogue is an important initiative to bring the issue of the Himalayan region to the global level. "We are preparing to bring the Environment Minister here from the UK for this program," he said, "We are currently discussing what to do with him after he comes here."
As the date of the Everest dialogue is approaching, Fain said that cooperation between Britain and Nepal on climate, biological diversity protection and sustainable mountain management is deepening . The government is planning to organize the Everest Dialogue in Kathmandu from May 16 to 18, 2025. Nepal Tourism Board has also requested world leaders and experts to participate in it.
