Maoist Chairman and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that those who are bent on looting and tyrannical tendencies are trying to attack it by saying that the Republic has not done anything.

Addressing the 10th Earthquake Commemoration Day celebrations held at Barpak in Gorkha, Dahal said that there is a need to defeat the autocratic trend of trying to turn back history.

"Those who are reactionary, absolutist and still in a dictatorial mood are trying to attack federal democracy and inclusiveness by saying 'Republic did nothing'," Dahal said, "This matter should be seriously thought about." Attempts to turn back history must be stopped.'

He said that many things have changed in the country after the advent of democracy. "Since the parties started ruling, what the people expected has not been fully fulfilled, but saying 'nothing has happened' is completely untrue," he said.

'From there to here, there has been a revolution in physical infrastructure, especially road construction. has developed qualitatively. "Thousands of kilometers of roads have been paved in the meantime," Dahal said, "development that has not been possible for hundreds of years has become possible after the Republic Before the coming of the Republic, the Sardar age was 57/58 years, now it is 72 years. Why did it happen? Child mortality has dropped significantly. Why? In the health sector, structures have been expanded across the country, some are in the process of being completed soon - why?' Regarding

loadshedding, he said, 'Remember that terrible situation at one time. At present, about 98 percent of people are benefited from electricity facilities. Isn't this qualitative progress? Don't see it?'

Dahal noted that he faced serious challenges during his 18 months as Prime Minister. He also expressed the feeling that he could not fulfill his commitment as the representative of Gorkha-2.

'I have done introspection, the party has also done it. Now, in the coming two-and-a-half years, you should pay more attention to your constituency," he said. "Work has progressed in the fields of herbs and tourism to make dust-free and paved roads. It is unfair to say that nothing has been done.'
