Maoist Chairman and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that those who are bent on looting and tyrannical tendencies are trying to attack it by saying that the Republic has not done anything.
Addressing the 10th Earthquake Commemoration Day celebrations held at Barpak in Gorkha, Dahal said that there is a need to defeat the autocratic trend of trying to turn back history.
"Those who are reactionary, absolutist and still in a dictatorial mood are trying to attack federal democracy and inclusiveness by saying 'Republic did nothing'," Dahal said, "This matter should be seriously thought about." Attempts to turn back history must be stopped.'
He said that many things have changed in the country after the advent of democracy. "Since the parties started ruling, what the people expected has not been fully fulfilled, but saying 'nothing has happened' is completely untrue," he said.

Dahal noted that he faced serious challenges during his 18 months as Prime Minister. He also expressed the feeling that he could not fulfill his commitment as the representative of Gorkha-2.
