The representatives of the Nepal Teachers' Federation, which led the teachers' movement, have reached Singhdarbar to meet the Minister of Education for a dialogue.
Laxmikishore Subedi, the president of the Federation, said that besides wishing and congratulating the newly appointed Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Raghuji Pant, he went to communicate. The coordinator of the negotiation committee and the co-president of the federation Nanumaya Parajuli along with the officials of the federation came to meet Minister Pant . They said that they have not gone for talks but only to congratulate them.
Education Minister Pant said in the afternoon He called for talks stating that he is ready to find a solution by communicating with the teachers. The ministry has said that it has drawn serious attention to the ongoing movement demanding that the Bill, 2080, which is made to amend and unify the laws related to school education, be passed soon.
In a press release issued on Friday, Minister Pant has mentioned that the government is trying to create an environment for timely passage of the School Education Bill, which is in the process of discussion in the House of Representatives.
The government has called the protesting teachers for the fourth time for talks for 24 days. Earlier informal talks were held but no conclusion could be reached.
Only on Thursday, the Supreme Court issued an interim order in the name of the government to fulfill the demands of the teachers within three days and create an environment for teaching and learning.
