The first meeting of the sixth session of the House of Representatives has started. In Friday's meeting, Speaker Devraj Ghimire read out the details of the letter received from President Ramchandra Paudel regarding the convening of the session.
Speaker Ghimire expressed his hope that this session of the Parliament will be effective in matters such as lawmaking, addressing the aspirations of the people. He said, 'In this session, it is expected that the government will submit policies and programs, budget and other laws to the parliament. Parliament is the place where the voice of the people is heard, and it is also the place where necessary laws are made for the country. It is believed that this session can end the unrest seen in the citizens due to the delay in law making. Parliament will play an effective role for transparency, social justice and accountability.'
In today's meeting, the Speaker read out the details of the letter received from the President's office regarding the Prime Minister's duties and the formation of the Council of Ministers.
Similarly, in accordance with Rule 10 of the House of Representatives Rules, 2079, MPs have been nominated to preside over the meeting in the absence of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker. In which MPs Amrutadevi Agrahari, Dr. Chanda Karki Bhandari, Durga Rai, Wise Tamang, Mukta Yadav, Rajendra Kumar KC and Hemrai Rai have been nominated.
In today's meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel has an agenda to submit the 'Alternative Development Finance Mobilization Bill, 2082'.
