Forest and Environment Minister Ain Bahadur Shahi Thakuri has said that until 2030, one billion and 77 million rupees will be spent on snow leopard conservation. For this, the ministry has implemented the 'Snow Leopard Conservation Action Plan 2024-2030', he said.

In the three-day 'International Snow Leopard Conservation Workshop' started today by the National Nature Conservation Fund, Minister Shahi said that they are working on an action plan for snow leopard conservation. "We have estimated that it will cost one billion and 77 million rupees to complete the work according to this action plan," he said, "for this, we have also created a long-term plan for the protection of snow leopards." According to the report, the number of snow leopards in Nepal has reached 397. The workshop was organized to share the experience and technology of scientists and experts from 12 countries where snow leopards are found and the work Nepal is doing in snow leopard conservation.

"On behalf of the Nepalese government, I am committed to working with the community to work on technology-based conservation," Forest Minister Shahi said, "Snow leopards do not have to stay within the borders of any country." Therefore, international cooperation is necessary to improve and protect its habitat.

The snow leopard, known as Himali Rani, is an indicator of the clean ecological system of the high Himalayan region of Nepal and Nepal is doing a good job in this.
