CPN Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the government has not been able to address the demands of the protesting teachers. He alleged that after the resignation of the Education Minister, the government has moved towards being more lenient.
President Dahal instructed the party MPs to play a role in addressing the demands of the teachers as the government could not address the demands of the teachers.
Speaking at the meeting of the parliamentary party of the party held on Thursday, Chairman Dahal instructed the parliamentarians to play a responsible role in addressing the demands of the protesting teachers from within the parliament.
He claimed victory on the people's side in the struggle against status quo and regressive tendencies. In the meeting, the parliamentarians discussed the latest political scenario, the government's working style, the role of the party and the people's expectations. At that time, Chairman Dahal said that the government is not going to solve the problem, but instead is going to increase the complexity on the demand of teachers, doctors and microfinance victims.
He said that the Maoists are advancing in the democratic process by winning the favor of the people. "During the previous parliament session, the prime minister was not responding in the parliament, but due to the clear stance and pressure of the Maoist center, the prime minister was able to appear in both houses and force him to answer," he said. "This is a victory for the people in the democratic process."
