Manisha's family was in mourning since 7th of June 2080 . Manisha's married elder sister Aartikumari Sah was found suspiciously dead in her house at Janakpurdham sub-metropolitan-8 Thapa Chowk that day. All the family members, including Manisha's father Vinod, were visiting various agencies demanding a fair investigation into the incident, saying that their daughter had been killed. After making the postmortem report suspicious, not allowing them to go to the place where the body will be examined, the police showing no desire to investigate the truth and preparing to prosecute a different case, they started raising voices saying that the intention of the police was wrong. The police also got the news through the streets, media and various agencies.
Then the police called Manisha's father Vinod at 11 am on June 32, 2080. Manisha said that what she said in the statement and the document prepared by the police were different, so they refused to sign and the police intervened for this reason. "DSP Ved Prasad Gautam cut my throat and threw me on the ground." "I was slapped on my left ear, due to which I still could not hear properly," Manisha wrote in the complaint, "I was kicked on my lower abdomen with a boot, due to which bleeding started from my vagina."
On that day, the police were called at 11 in the morning and till 10 at night, Manisha complained that the whole family was subjected to physical and mental torture and behaved inhumanly. Manisha said that along with her brother Prem Sah named Dheeraj, father Vinod Prasad Sah, mother Nirmala Sah and maternal uncle Santosh Shah were tortured. It is alleged that while going, SP Khadka made her cover her feet and threatened to kill her if she complained anywhere.
SP Khadka, DSP Gautam, Police Jaiprakash Sah, Jawan Hanuman Rai and Avinash Kumar Kapar have been made defendants in the case. SP Bhuvneshwar Tiwari of Dhanusha, who is not currently working in Dhanusha police, informed about all these. He said that he did not know much about this matter and he would understand later .
In the case of Aarti's death, her husband Motibabu Sah and father-in-law Madanmohan Sudi were ordered to be sent to prison on 5th June 2080 by District Court Dhanusha. Then they filed a writ in the High Court and were released on 19 June 2080. After Aarti's family filed a case in the Supreme Court against the order of the High Court, the court ordered her husband Motibabu Sah to be imprisoned on 20th November 2080.
