The Chief of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Balendra (Balen) Shah, has accused irregularities and political corruption in the commercial complex (Kathmadoon Tower) under construction at the old bus park.

This afternoon, he wrote a long status on the social network Facebook and mentioned his claim about how the irregularities happened from the map pass. He has also claimed that the financial loss to the metropolis may be more than 1 billion and the contractor will benefit by billions . Chief Shah alleges that there may have been collusion between employees, public representatives and contractors in this process.

He mentioned that the map was passed illegally by ignoring the need for environmental impact, social and economic impact assessment.

He alleges that a very serious error was found in the process of map approval of the building and there was political corruption for the profit of a limited number of people by causing financial damage to the metropolis .

Before starting the construction of the tower, on June 22, 2072, Kathmandu  The Valley Development Authority had given permission for the plan not to go higher than 2.41, i.e. not to go higher than 12 floors . But in the process of adding more floors, no permission was obtained from the authority,' he asked, 'doesn't it require re-planning permit for making 12 floors into 19 floors? Shouldn't the environmental impact, social and economic impact be assessed while the floor is being added?'

Chief Shah mentioned that due to negligence, coercion and illegal work in many aspects of building construction, it not only violates the legal process, but also increases the risk from the building.
