The General Minister of the ruling Congress, Gagan Thapa, said that the Federal Civil Service Bill is being seriously discussed in the Public Order and Good Governance Committee and asked the employees' trade unions not to announce the program of the agitation.

Thapa said that it was not right for the trade unions to announce a strike when the parliamentary committee was trying to finalize the federal civil law bill.

"While the parliamentary committee is working diligently, its stakeholders should also respect the bill," Thapa said, "While we are living here, as there have been issues of going on a protest, I request that it be stopped immediately."

The civil servants have prepared a protest by demanding the release of the Federal Civil Service Act. Addressing his demands, he gave an ultimatum to the committee to pass the bill within 72 hours.

Thapa asked to put pressure on finalizing the bill and not to disturb the atmosphere. It's natural to put pressure on when we're slowing down. "That is fair," he said, "but we should help those who are trying to settle the matter by sitting and discussing it."
