How will the newly appointed education minister address the teachers' movement?

For 22 days, the teachers have been on a street protest. Educational activities including school admissions, reading, exams and answer sheet testing are at a standstill. The debate on the school education bill is continuing in the parliamentary committee, which is sure to become complicated. Tribhuvan University has been on the shoulders of the Acting Chancellor for a week now. At this time, 67-year-old UML proportional MP Raghuji Pant has the responsibility of education minister.

It remains to be seen whether Pant, who often speaks the truth and makes sharp comments in the parliament, will avoid this crisis that has suddenly appeared in the education sector or will continue to intensify the problem . Because he has come to live as the Minister of Education at once in the heart of the problem . Therefore, it is not possible to wait long to review his work .
Pant, active in left-wing journalism during the Panchayat period, has become the education minister at this time. And at the center of this problem is not only the Ministry of Education, but also the Parliament, the Ministry of Finance and the Prime Minister's Office. Now the journey to see how Minister Pant coordinates with these bodies and reaches a conclusion has now begun.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has appointed him as the Minister of Education today by President Ramchandra Paudel. It is said that his swearing-in and assumption of office will be held on Thursday. Pant became the minister in the background of the resignation of Education Minister Vidya Bhattarai on Monday amid growing distance and disagreement with the Prime Minister.
Pant, who is also a member of the State Order and Good Governance Committee of the House of Representatives, was drawn into discussion and criticism due to his expression only on Monday. He made a statement to ban journalists coming to report in the monthly discussion on the Bill in the State Affairs Committee. Also, because of his sharp expressions, he is often in the news .

Pant, who has been in politics along with journalism since 2032, was elected to the House of Representatives from Lalitpur Region No. 3 in 2051 and 2056. In 2052, he was appointed the press adviser of the then Prime Minister Manmohan Adhikari and was a central member of UML from 2054 to 2065. In the year 2061, he became the Minister of Labor and Transport.

He is currently a permanent committee member of UML and was elected as a permanent committee member from the tenth convention of UML. Due to his long political journey, his personality has formed his own rhythm, but whether this rhythm can solve the problem this time will depend on how much coordinating role he plays.

Pant, who once worked as the head of UML's cultural, water and energy, propaganda, law, and social service departments, is known as an intellectual person who is interested in reading and writing within the party. While being active in journalism, he worked as an editorial group in newspapers including Wednesday, Dizur Weekly, Navayug Monthly.

In 2066, when Madhav was the Prime Minister of Nepal, he was a political advisor. He who was always in the Nepal camp joined the UML president KP Sharma Oli group after the CPN split. When Oli dissolved the parliament in 2078, UML leaders including Pant stood in opposition. The Oli government collapsed after the order of the Supreme Court. The CPN, which was formed by combining UML-Maoist, became divided. Madhav Nepal and other leaders separated from UML, but Pant and other leaders remained in UML.  The 10 leaders are also portrayed as '10 brothers' because they were against Oli during the dissolution of the parliament but later returned to the UML.

Prime Minister Oli and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel have not cooperated in solving the problem of teachers, and everyone is interested in the latest background given by Education Minister Bhattarai in Rajneena. On the other hand, the school education bill is in the stage of biannual discussion in the education and health committee of the parliament. The teachers have been saying that they will return to the classroom completely from the agitation only after the school education act is passed by the parliament.

It is not so easy to decide on the complex issues of the bill, including the jurisdiction of the local level, management of private schools and teachers in school education. Now, not only how much role can he play in order to finalize the school education bill in a sensible manner, but also how to conclude the teachers' movement and conduct the upcoming 12th class examination immediately before him.
