Superintendent of Police Sudhirraj Shahi informed that the bureau registered a case against Prasai on 17th Chaitra under the Banking Offenses and Punishment Act, 2064 and Prevention of Assets Laundering (Money Laundering) Act, 2064. "Prasain and his family's affiliated firms and companies are accused of using the loans taken from various banks and financial institutions against their purpose," said Superintendent Shahi, "It has also been seen that there have been suspicious transactions in his and his family's accounts."
When taking loans from banks and financial institutions, the Rastra Bank has made dozens of accusations against Prasain, including misappropriation of loans by using the loan amount for other than the stated purpose, using the loan amount to pay off the loan from different banks and financial institutions, not paying the arrears of the loan beyond the amount of the loan, and not paying the interest regularly, and using more loan than required for the project.
After the violent demonstration of royalists in Tinkune on Chait 15, Prasain is in custody in the police complex of Kathmandu. On that day, Prasain violated the prohibition by driving a car and hitting the police. He also incited the mob to become violent. After reaching Assam, India and staying in the house of a Nepali speaker, Prasai police arrested him and brought him to Nepal.
District Police Complex Kathmandu is investigating the crime against the state and organized crime against Prasai. Shahi said that the CIB will also conduct investigations and take statements along with the Kathmandu Police Complex.
