Everest dialogue: A 'Arohi Conference' is being held in Thame to show the impact of climate change

To show the impact of climate change, a 'climbing conference' is being held at Thame in Solukhumbu. Last year, on July 32, the flood caused a huge loss of people's wealth in Khumbu Pasanglhamu Rural Municipality-5 Thame of Solukhumbu. In order to show the same damage, the Arohi conference is going to be held on May 9 in coordination with the foundation's project and the government at all three levels.

In addition, the climbing conference is also connected to the 'Sagarmata Samvad 2025' planned by the government. Prajita Karki, president of the foundation, said that the climbing conference was taken as a pre-event of the Everest Dialogue.

We have also received a permission from the government for the conference. That's why we have called it the pre-event of the Everest dialogue,' she said, 'all three levels of government are participating in it. The foundation has been advocating for climate justice for the past four years . That's why this is a part of dialogue. Forest and Environment Minister Ain Bahadur Shahi Thakuri is also participating in the

conference. Minister Shahi said that through the conference, it was tried to show the impact of climate change on the world. "On the eve of the Everest dialogue, a program is going to be organized at the same place to see the impact of climate change in Fedi Khumbu Rural Municipality of Everest," he said, "We are going to participate in that too." And there will be a direct view of how climate change has affected.'  Foundation president Karki informed that Princess Asma Al Thami of Everest, Qatar's princess Asma Al Thami, Nepal's famous climbers Kamirita Sherpa, Mingma David Sherpa, younger climber Temwachiri Sherpa, Maya Gurung will participate in the

conference. The union, Koshi state government and local Khumbu Pasanglhamu rural municipality of Solukhumbu are co-organizers.

"Earth Day falls on May 9 and holding a program on that day in Thame is a place that can show the impact of climate change last year," she said. We will discuss what happened there . For that, the union, local bodies here and women leaders working in various fields all participate.'

Also, on May 2, 3 and 4, the first edition of Sagarmatha Dialogue is being held in Kathmandu. She said that it is a matter of pride for herself to join Arohi Conference as an eve program of dialogue.

'The matter of mountains comes up in the conversation . In this conference, you can see what is happening in the mountain area and the community before the dialogue,' said Karki, the president of the foundation, 'this matter finds a place in the Everest dialogue . We can go tomorrow and put our issues strongly at the international level.'

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had announced the dialogue project on January 8. The focus of 'Sagarmatha Samvad 2025' is climate change, Himalayas and human future. Nepal has already invited heads of state, heads of government and experts from various countries to participate in the dialogue.
