Chairman of the Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal has claimed that the republic is not in danger. Speaking to reporters at Biratnagar Airport on Sunday, he said that the party should be united but the comment that the republic is in danger is not correct.

'The republic is not in danger,' was Dahal's explanation, 'in the republic we are one and the same.'

In a question asked regarding the political comeback of former Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Dahal insisted that constitutional, legal and international traditions will not stop him from returning to politics. Dahal added, "If they want to enter politics, there is nothing to stop them."
