Forest and Environment Minister Ain Bahadur Shahi Thakuri has said that plastic waste has seriously affected mountains, rivers, mountains, seas and human health. While addressing the 'Kathmandu Plastic Waste Management Conference 2025' organized in Lalitpur on Sunday, Minister Shahi said that plastic waste has a serious impact on human health and the environment.

"Today's challenge is to manage it in a scientific and sustainable manner," he said. This requires everyone's cooperation .' 

In a program organized by Tribhuvan University's Department of Applied Science and Chemical Engineering and Plastic Free Rivers and Seas for South Asia Project, Minister Shahi said that reducing plastic pollution requires the cooperation of educational institutions, research centers, local governments, international partners and citizens.

In addition, he said that the suggestions from the conference are committed to making the government environmentally friendly. "Our commitment to find an alternative to plastic, encourage recycling technology and invest more in environmental protection work will remain the same," Minister Shahi said.
