Traffic has been blocked for 21 hours as the road has become slippery due to rain in the lower part of the Narayangadh-Butwal road section. A 14 km road section between Bardghat and Dumkibas in East Nawalparasi has been blocked.

After the rain on Thursday morning, traffic was not possible due to the slippery road near the Gyu River in Daune. Because of this, the road has been completely blocked and thousands of passengers have been stranded.

District Police Chief Yadav Dhakal informed that the road has been blocked since 11 am on Thursday and traffic has not resumed yet. According to him, the road was jammed due to the highway slipping in the Gyu River near Dumkibas. About 3 feet of dust accumulated on the road that was demolished during the widening of the highway. After the rain, the dust became muddy and the road became slippery.

On Thursday, Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Devendra Dahal was also stuck in a jam for four hours. Minister Dahal was rescued by the police and taken to Chitwan at 8 pm. Minister Dahal, who was going to Narayangadh from Butwal, got stuck in a traffic jam.
