The raped girl gave birth to a daughter, the accused is still absconding

A 12-year-old girl from Achham, Chowrapati, who was raped by her maternal uncle, has given birth to a daughter. The accused of rape has not been arrested even after two months of reporting to the police. It was discovered that she was pregnant when her parents noticed that her daughter's belly was big and took her to Bayalpata Hospital on February 2, suspecting that she might have a disease.

After Bayalpata Hospital and  District Hospital Achham told the parents that they could not perform an abortion after 25 weeks, the girl was kept in a safe residential home under the supervision of Ekdwar Crisis Management Center (OCMC) Kailali. The girl gave birth to a daughter on 29 March at Seti Provincial Hospital, Dhangadhi.

The father of the girl had signed the document as a guardian to give birth in the hospital from Achham to Dhangadhi. He has returned home. The girl's mother was also pregnant. She gave birth to a stillborn baby on 15 February. The wife has the pain of giving birth to a dead child, on the other hand, the condition of a minor daughter is similar. The mother's life is also in danger because of her daughter's worry, said the girl's father.

He also said that it is not possible to bring the newborn daughter home with the baby. "How can I bring my daughter in front of the village and the society?" He said, "I begged her to have an abortion the day I found out before my daughter's future was ruined." The law does not agree. Let the state manage it now.

Seti Provincial Hospital Gynecologist and Obstetrician According to Khagendra Bhatt, the newborn baby was kept in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) for 6 days and was discharged on Wednesday. He said that the girl was kept in the hospital keeping in mind her health condition. Taking care of the health condition of the girl, we did a normal delivery. Stakeholders should now pay attention to the rehabilitation of the girl child," he said.

Giving birth at an immature age can cause various health problems and there will also be a risk of cervical cancer in the future. Bhatt said. "In the current situation, it seems that the girl is malnourished. Thus the victims of violence

Mental health is also not good. Health should be taken care of throughout life," he said. He said that before this, the hospital and OCMC protected the girl and now the state agencies should take responsibility.

In Surat, India, the girl informed the police and her family that a man who was her uncle, who lived in the same room in the same house, raped her several times and even threatened to kill her in the house. The girl lived with her parents who were laborers in Surat. Based on the girl's statement, a complaint was registered at the district police office on February 4. Police say that the accused could not be arrested because he is in India.

According to the girl's mother, the day after the complaint was filed in Achham, the accused man was arrested by his relatives and handed over to Adjan Police Office in Surat, India. After 24 hours of submission to the police, no complaint was filed, the Indian police released the prisoner. The victim girl's mother says that the man who was arrested in India ran away because they were financially weak. He says that the hope of getting justice is dying because the accused has not been arrested even after two months of filing the

complaint. Daughter's future is ruined. The family's happiness was robbed. It is not easy for us to go to India and earn. If we are not arrested, it will solve us," he said.

Achham police chief DSP Ishwari Prasad Bhandari informed that the process has been advanced through Interpol to arrest the accused. Nepalese police cannot go to India and arrest them. We are trying our best," he said.
