Curfew added in Birganj

The curfew order imposed in Birgunj Municipality area of ​​Parsa has been extended till 12 midnight on Sunday.

Chief District Officer Ganesh Aryal issued a notice on Sunday midday and informed that the curfew order has been extended till 12 midnight. A curfew order has been issued considering Bypass Road in the east, Sirsia Bridge in the west, Power House Chowk in the north and Shankaracharya Gate in the south as four forts. 

Police fired 2 rounds of aerial fire and 125 rounds of tear gas in Birganj after tension was created during the procession of Hanuman Jayanti on Saturday . An unknown group pelted stones on the participants of the procession while returning from Ghantaghar to Shriram Chowk in Virgunj-3 Chhapkaiya. After that, the scattered participants staged a demonstration by burning tires and took out shop furniture and burnt it.

SP Gautam Mishra said that after the situation became tense, 2 rounds of aerial fire and 125 rounds of tear gas had to be fired for control. During this, 25 security personnel including DSP of Mishra and Armed Police and around a dozen local residents were injured. After that curfew was imposed in Birganj.
