Forest and Environment Minister Ain Bahadur Shahi Thakuri has released the nine-month progress report. After being appointed as a minister, he announced the progress made from June 31, 2081 to March.
It is said that during this period, the ministry has approved 18 policies and documents and implemented them.
"The ministry has granted permission for various development projects, projects of national pride and national priority, land rights for construction of local level structures," he said, "An integrated strategic plan has been prepared for the management of the national forest by the provincial government. The guidelines have been approved to facilitate the collection and transportation of yarsagumba, an important herb for the livelihood of the citizens of the Himalayan region.
Ministry has approved and implemented policies including the National Forest Integrated Strategic Plan 2081, Sustainable Management National Standard 2081, Exotic Species Management National Strategy and Action Plan 2081, Community Forestry Guidance, and more. Also, the Ministry has informed that the Marine, CBIT, Rain program, CRLLP project has been approved and implemented.
Likewise, the Ministry informed that work is being done on the Forestry Act 2076, Environmental Protection Act 2076, Amendment to the National Parks and Wildlife Protection Act 2029, Drafting of the Plant Resources Bill, Drafting of the Forest Technical Council Bill.
