MP's demand to investigate the incident in royalist demonstration

The parliamentarians have demanded a judicial inquiry into the incident that took place during the demonstration by Rajawadi on 15 Chait at Three Kune. Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee of the House of Representatives on Friday discussed with Home Minister Ramesh Ukhtar about the Three Corners incident, and the MPs demanded an investigation.

The parliamentarians have also proposed that former king Gyanendra Shah should be called to the committee and questioned. Congress MP Jeevan Pariyar said that Gyanendra Shah, who is responsible for the incident, should be called to the committee. Pariyar opined that a discussion is necessary as there are questions about his involvement in the Three Kune incident. UML MP Mahesh Bertaula said that former King Shah should be held accountable for the incident.

United Samajwadi MP Sher Bahadur Kunwar stressed that the three-corner incident should be thoroughly investigated. RPP MP Dhruv Bahadur Pradhan accused the government of serious human rights violations in Tinkune. He demanded a judicial inquiry into the incident saying that it was an act of provoking the assembly by firing tear gas while the national anthem was being played.

committee chairman Vimala Subedi said that the voice of investigation was raised in the meeting to bring out the truth because there were incidents of vandalism, arson and murder during the Rajawadi demonstration. The committee could not give any instructions to the government on Friday. She informed that the issue of the incident was discussed with the Home Minister and the committee will take further decisions on the matter in the next meeting.

The Home Minister said that the government will investigate the incident through the regular legal process and bring the culprits to justice. He said that there is no need for a judicial inquiry committee. As the shortcomings of the state side were also seen, the preparatory committee was to investigate and give instructions to make the security forces more equipped and equipped with technology. However, the committee could not take a decision after the MP from the ruling party objected that such instructions were not necessary as the government was taking necessary action on the three-cornered incident.
