Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the resignation of Tribhuvan University Vice-Chancellor Professor Kesharjung Baral has not been accepted as it has not come to him.
Oli, who is also the chancellor of the University of Tertiary, complained in the media that he did not accept the resignation that he did not come to him during the vigil held by the UML Lumbini State Committee in Butwal on Friday.
Prime Minister Oli had accepted Vice Chancellor Baral's resignation only on Thursday. 'The resignation was sent with someone else, it did not come to me, how to accept it,' he said, 'It came, it was accepted after it came.' Although Baral had resigned on 15th March, it was kept with the requirement of identification (verify whether it is his/her or not). Baral said that he had sent his resignation through the secretariat. Although the resignation was accepted two weeks later, the responsibilities of the Acting Vice-Chancellor have not been specified.
Baral resigned from the post saying that there was non-cooperation and interference of Prime Minister and Chancellor Oli. He alleges that Oli has been uncooperative since he was appointed as the Prime Minister and has recently interfered with the autonomy of the university.
