UML Vice President Yuvraj Gyawali has said that the matter of bringing back the king will be like demolishing the road and making it gravel. In a public meeting organized by UML's Sudurpaschim Province Committee in Dhangadhi today, Vice President Gyawali warned that the people themselves will answer those who dream of overthrowing the republic.
In the program, the party's general secretary Shankar Pokharel objected to the statements and recent activities of former king Gyanendra Shah and said that the party was aware of anti-republican activities. He said that democracy has significantly improved Nepalese people's per capita income, health, education, access to electricity and women's education.
State in-charge Lekhraj Bhatt reminded that thousands were sacrificed to bring the republic and cautioned that royalist forces are active again. "The republic that was brought by throwing away the king should not be allowed to go back," he said.
