A soldier of the Nepalese Army who was shot at a military security post in Chitwan National Park on Friday morning died during treatment. Park and military officials said that the shooting was accidental. The incident took place around 9 am.

According to the Nepali Army, soldier Chandrakishore Das Tharu, who was shot in the thigh, died at Chitwan Medical College's teaching hospital in Bharatpur around 4:00 in the afternoon.

Chief Conservation Officer of Chitwan Park Ganesh Pant said that the incident took place at the post of New Gaok Gana in the Nepalese Army in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-18 Setidevi Community Forest of the park.
