Royalist protest: Home Minister visited the injured two weeks after the incident

Two weeks later, the Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar went to the hospital and met those who were injured in the firing by the police during the demonstration held by Rajawadi on 15 Chait at Tinkune. 20 people were injured due to bullets and shrapnel and 5 people are undergoing treatment till Wednesday.

In the meeting with the injured, the minister promised that the government will cover the medical expenses. "The government has decided to provide free treatment to those who came to the hospital with injuries," he said.

"I have come to see whether the injured get free treatment or not, the decision we made will be implemented, now there is also talk of buying medicine from outside the hospital by paying money," the minister said, "even if he spends it immediately, the bill that he spends will go to the Ministry of Health through the hospital." The government will pay the bill equivalent to that. According to

minister, the government will get the money if the bills spent by those who have been discharged after treatment are verified and submitted through the relevant hospital. "Even if the family of the injured has spent, the payment will be given if the hospital verifies the bill voucher and sends it," he said.

But as the home minister writer said, the patient did not get the treatment easily. Suman Gurung of Syangja ran away from the hospital after he could not pay the treatment expenses at the Kathmandu Medical College. He was hit by a rubber bullet on his cheek and ear during a demonstration on 15th Chait. He escaped from the hospital on the fourth day. Many of the injured have been discharged from the hospital after paying money.

Ramchandra Budhatho of Dolakha, who was shot in the hand, is being treated at Kathmandu Medical College, Sinamangal, Ramhari (Rhythm) Shrestha of Kavre, who was shot in the arm, is being treated at B&B Hospital, Revika Khatri of Udaipur, who was shot in the thigh, is now being treated at the Civil Hospital. Similarly, Dilliprasad Luintel of Bhojpur, who was shot in the stomach, and Shambhu Darzi, who was shot in the elbow, are being treated at the trauma hospital.

Their only problem is that they don't even have money to spend immediately. The families of the injured complained that they have not received any help from the government so far. The injured and relatives of the injured said that the government should also think about their future. In response, the home minister said that he would take the initiative.

The Ministry of Health and Population had already issued a statement that if there is a problem, you can contact the toll-free number of the Ministry and get help. Even if the family does not have the financial condition to buy medicines from outside, they can apply for assistance to the social security unit and get help, but the patients have not been able to use the service. According to the ministry, 129 people were injured during the demonstration and 13 people underwent emergency surgery. The ministry does not have the official details of how many people received what treatment and how much is being spent. Two people were killed in the incident.
