The first secretariat meeting of RSVP will be held on Wednesday after the Butwal bench of Tulsipur High Court sent the Chairman Ravi Lamichhane to pre-trial detention. The High Court overturned the order of the Rupandehi District Court in the case related to cooperative fraud and organized crime and ordered Lamichhane to be sent to prison last Friday.
Lamichhane was arrested on Friday after a court order. Even though the emergency meeting of the RSWP Secretariat was held on the same day, the meeting with the agenda is scheduled to be held on Wednesday at 4 o'clock. In the
meeting, five agendas have been set with discussions on contemporary political and party activities. The Acting Spokesperson Manish Jha informed that besides deciding the party's official opinion on the arrest of Lamichhane, there is an agenda to discuss the convention program and the completion of the public procession.
"There is an agenda to review the previous meeting of the secretariat, to discuss party activities and current political events," Jha said, "There is also a program to discuss the party convention. The date of the convention was fixed in the coming Baisakh. Similarly, there will be a discussion about where to hold the next program of the mass yatra. Raswapa started the mass yatra program from Chitwan on Saturday. Jha says that a decision can be made about where to hold the next program under the said trip.
It is said that the meeting presided over by DP Aryal, the acting chairman of the party, will also discuss the order written by the High Court to send Lamichhane to prison for pretrial detention . Acting Spokesperson Jha also said that the official opinion regarding the arrest of Chairman Lamichhane will be released.
"The High Court did not change the legal basis in relation to the Speaker Lamichhane, the District Court meant to allow him to stay outside, now the High Court has sent him for preliminaries," Jha said, "It is not a guilty plea. This time as arrested . There is a question in the process of that . I respect the court, rather than arresting, it seems like I came to catch the terrorist. There is no arrest warrant, it was written there (at Lamichhane's house).'
The meeting held at the party's central office in Vanasthali has an agenda to discuss the party's state officials and central members. RASWPA is preparing to assign responsibilities from the center to make the provincial committees effective .
Earlier, Deputy Chairman Swarnim Wagle had criticized the court's order in a program held in Chitwan on Saturday. Wagle questioned the order of the High Court claiming that Lamichhane had prepared to go to Chitwan to appear in court but was arrested overnight.
'The verdict will come around seven o'clock. Today, he was arrested like the biggest criminal in the world yesterday. That is extremely scandalous,' Wagle said, 'I saw what the verdict was yesterday . Written by two judges. Six of seven-eight pages . There are examples from Canada. There are examples of Hindustan. Even though there was a debate about what kind of talented justices have come to Nepal, but the decision could not be written within two hours after the debate. Wagle also alleged that the government is trying to trap Lamichhane in the clutches of the court and keep him moving from district to district and prevent him from appearing in public events.
