Mishra led by nearly double the number of votes in the Bar Association presidency

Senior Advocate Vijay Prasad Mishra is leading by almost double the number of votes in the Nepal Bar Association. On the second day of counting of votes for the 27th Central Working Committee of the Association, Mishra maintained his lead.

According to the results so far, Mishra has secured the lead by getting 2 thousand 10 votes  . His closest competitor, senior advocate Raman Kumar Shrestha, has brought 1,077. 

Elections were held on Saturday for the selection of new leadership. Out of 9,957 voters, 80 percent of the votes were cast to elect the new working committee of the bar. Voting was held in a total of 36 polling stations in Kathmandu and outside. Senior advocate Vijay Prasad Mishra from broad democratic, progressive, professional, nationalistic and inclusive legal practitioners group and senior advocate Raman Kumar Shrestha from professional legal practitioners group are competing for the new leadership of the bar.

In the group of senior advocate Mishra, senior advocate Kedar Prasad Koirala is the general secretary, while in the group of senior advocate Shrestha, advocate Yagyamani Neupane is the candidate for the post of general secretary. The counting of votes started at 8 am. In which, candidates for other posts including the chairman from the broad democratic, progressive, professional, nationalistic and inclusive group of legal professionals are still in the lead.
