Congress leader Shekhar Koirala has said that even the Rashtra Bank, which manages the country's economy, has been run by middlemen.
In a program organized by Chitwan Congress in Narayangadh on Tuesday Leader Koirala said, 'The appointment of the governor of Rashtra Bank, which should be done a month in advance, has not yet been made. Although the selection committee has been formed, the meeting has not been held. Even Rashtra Bank was not spared from the manipulation of the middlemen.'
He said that when the economy of the country and the world is going down, the need to make a competent and spotless person as the governor is getting lost. He emphasized that the government should not be run by political mechanisms.
Even though constitutional amendment seems urgent, he says that it should be amended not only by Congress-UML, but at least with the advice of all parties in Parliament, civil society and legal experts.
