Nepal Bar Association elections are being counted. The counting results of four districts of Koshi province and one district of Madhesh have been announced. According to which, Senior Advocate Vijay Prasad Mishra, a legal professional candidate close to UML and Congress, has taken the lead.
After counting of votes in Jhapa, Ilam, Dhankuta and Udaipur of Kosi province and Sirha district of Madhesh province, Mishra has received 215 votes.
Senior advocate Raman Shrestha, the candidate for the chairmanship of the alliance of lawyers of Maoists and the National Socialist Party, has received 132 votes.
The election was held on Saturday for the new leadership of the association. There were 9,957 voters in the bar, and 80 percent of votes fell. Voting was done in 36 polling stations in Kathmandu and outside.
