Minister of Communication and Information Technology and spokesperson of the Government of Nepal Prithvisubba Gurung has warned the former King Gyanendra Shah not to do anti-constitutional activities. Saying that the former king was not above the constitution, he also warned that action would be taken if he was doing anti-constitutional activities.
Minister Gurung while inaugurating the 2nd Chairman's Cup football tournament organized in Kholasothar Rural Municipality-5, Singhdi of Lamjung on Sunday, accused Gyanendra of breaking the agreement with political parties. No one is above the constitution. Gyanendra has violated the agreement with the political party to abide by the constitution and not interfere with the rights of the sovereign citizens," he said. "If they do anti-constitutional activities, the law of violation of the constitution will be attracted." The former king had made an agreement with the political party that he would not deliver. The previous king did not comply with the agreement. That was clear," he said.
Minister Gurung has also urged citizens not to support anti-constitutional activities. The government is always committed to protect the republic that the Nepali people have shed their blood and sweat for. It is the duty of citizens to not support the implementation of the constitution and anti-constitutional activities," he said.
He warned that the government will take action against elements who violate the constitution, attack the constitution, and suppress the rights of citizens. Earlier, he said that because the government was unstable, development and construction did not accelerate, the economy collapsed, production stopped, and employment was not created.
