Rajkumar Rai, who was arrested for participating in the movement to return the king, is currently in the limelight. He initially left the Congress, then the Rashtriya Swatantra Party and again the RSVP and participated in the movement to return the king.

Ashish Thapa, a young leader of the RSVP, said that Rai, who was accused of inciting the protestors and being involved in the Bhatbhateni robbery, has recently separated from the RSVP.

"After being defeated for the chairmanship in the district convention held last December, he distanced himself from the party. When there was a movement in Kathmandu, he informed that he was in the movement to return the king," said Thapa.

According to Thapa, Rai was defeated for the post of district president by getting 6 votes in the district convention held on 13th of January. Mukundakrishna Thapa got 26 votes for the presidency and won. 

He was active in the Congress before the RSVP.
