The State Order and Good Governance Committee has called the Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar to answer about the looting, vandalism and arson that took place during the protest of the royalist group on the 15th of March.
In the committee meeting held at Singh Darbar on Wednesday, the parliamentarians from the ruling party and the opposition party demanded an answer from the home minister regarding the loss of public property during the demonstration by the royalist group. Committee chairman Ramhari Khatiwada informed that the home minister will attend the committee meeting on Friday to answer the demonstration of the royalist group.
Maoist's chief whip Hitraj Pandey said that the government's serious error in the Three Kune incident should be answered by the Home Minister. He believes that the situation has gone out of control due to the government's failure to take proper steps despite being in a position to control the demonstration.
He said, 'As far as the incident on the 15th is concerned, the government did not fix it. Can't catch it when surrounded by its own police? And now that the government will catch it as soon as possible? Who believes such a thing? For this, the Honorable Home Minister should be called and asked for an answer.'
He also expressed the intention that the movement's commander, Durga Prasai, was driven away by the government. He also questioned why the police did not arrest him when they surrounded him.
