Senior Vice President Ishwar Pokharel has been appointed as acting president of UML.
UML Central Office Secretary Bhisham Adhikari informed that Senior Vice President Pokharel has been assigned the role of Acting President after Party President and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli went to Bangkok on Tuesday to participate in the sixth summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) on an official visit to Thailand. According to the
official, party president Oli has assigned the responsibility of acting president to Senior Vice President Pokharel as per the provision of UML Statute 2049 (Amendment 2078). Prime Minister Oli is scheduled to return home on March 23.
