Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has paid homage to writer and former ambassador Kamal Koirala. He visited the party office of the United Samajwadi Party in Aloknagar and paid his respects. Also, Oli inspected the office which was vandalized and set on fire by the demonstrators of the royalist movement last Friday.

Koirala's mortal body has been kept at Aloknagar, the central office of the United Samajwadi Party, for paying homage.

party president Madhav Kumar Nepal, respected leader Jhalnath Khanal, general secretary Ghanshyam Bhusal, CPN vice-president Pampha Bhusal, general secretary Dev Gurung, Nepali Congress leader Minendra Rizal, former ambassador Tank Karki, Tribhuvan University, central journalism department chief Jagat Nepal paid their respects. 

President Nepal said that Koirala, an experienced leader in the country's political, journalistic, diplomatic and other fields, was an honest ideal person and said that his death has caused an irreparable loss to the country.

Koirala was a senior writer and columnist, former parliamentarian and ambassador. He will be cremated today at Pashupati Aryaghat.

87-year-old Koirala, who was undergoing treatment at KMC Hospital in Sinamangal, passed away on Sunday evening. He was admitted to the hospital last Tuesday after falling and being paralyzed at home.
