In protest of the killing of journalist Suresh Rajak, the attack and arson of Kantipur Media Group and other media houses and journalists on Sunday, the journalists of Kantipur tied a black band and protested against the protest by the Rajtantra supporters on Friday.
According to the agenda of the movement put forward by the Federation of Nepalese Journalists, the journalists and media workers working at the headquarters of Kantipur in Thapathali have tied black belts and worked at the workplace.
The federation has decided to submit a memorandum to the government of Nepal through all the media persons, central committee, state committee and branches of the country and to discuss with the concerned organizations on Tuesday, demanding an investigation into the incident on Friday and strict action against the culprits.
Similarly, the federation has also formed a committee under the leadership of Vice President Umid Prasad Bagchand, including secretaries Ramesh Khatiwada, Soni Sharma, Prakash Dhaulakoti and Vaikuntharaj Parajuli, to prepare a report after discussion with journalist Suresh Rajak's affiliated media house and his family. The Federation has said that after analyzing the situation, more programs of the movement will be decided.
A journalist was burnt to death by an anarchist group participating in the movement in the name of Rajawadi, various media houses were set on fire and vandalized, journalists were injured and media materials were lost on Saturday, the Federation also held nationwide protests.
