Congress MP Mohan Bahadur Basnet has said that due to the weakness of the government, the police had to become innocent even when the demonstration of royalists turned into chaos. On Sunday, while talking to the media persons at the Federal Parliament Complex, New Baneshwar, MP Basnet also commented that it was seen that the protesters of the royalist group were sitting there asking when the protestors would march and loot.
He argued that he was demonstrating not because of royalist political will but for the purpose of fishing in murky waters. He said that the police should not stand idly by when people are being killed and there is arson and looting of private properties.
