Federation of Nepalese Journalists on Kantipur Television during the protest of supporters of the monarchy on Friday Condemned the planned attack.

A team including Acting President of the Federation of Journalists, Deepak Acharya, inspected Kantipur Television on Saturday and expressed regret over the planned attack on Kantipur Television by the royalists in the name of demonstration.

Federation has demanded the government to ensure the freedom of the press according to the provisions of the constitution saying that the attack on Kantipur Television is an attack on democracy.

The attack on the leading media like Kantipur Television is an attack on the system and the Federation of Journalists has said that it has started a protest program against it since Saturday. 

In that sequence, Rupesh Shrestha, deputy news chief of Kantipur Television, said that the television was attacked in a terrorist style and the government should take it seriously.

The team of the Federation of Journalists has also promised to collect the details of the damage done by the attackers on Kantipur Television and inform the government. The Federation team has also observed the attack on television.

Prior to this, under the leadership of the Federation of Journalists, the former Rajapaksadhar protested at Maitighar Mandal condemning the attack on the media and journalists.
