Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar has said that those involved in the attacks and violent incidents by royalists will be dealt with strictly according to the law.
Talking to mediapersons at Aloknagar Central Office of United Samajwadi Party on Saturday, he promised to investigate and take action against those who caused damage to people's wealth.
Two people died during the protest by royalists in Tinkune on Friday, while public and private properties were vandalized. The attackers also set fire to the party office of CPN (Unified Socialist).
The Home Minister said that the movement has nothing to do with political philosophy, ideals, principles and consciousness, and mentioned that it is a criminal and inhumane activity. He said that a journalist was killed when people were set on fire while knowing that people were inside the house and another person died when the police used force to protect citizens.
He expressed his grief for the deceased and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
'Friday's incident is not a demonstration, but a planned attack. Attacks on media houses, houses of pro-republican leaders and party offices, destruction of private and government property, vandalism in shopping complexes are all criminal activities. Action will be taken against the culprits according to the law,” said the Home Minister.
He made it clear that strict action will be taken against the guilty after conducting a detailed investigation of the incident.
